Salt Awareness Week

It is Salt Awareness Week in the UK and around the world and the theme is ‘Shake The Habit’! This week aims to help raise awareness of the damaging effect of too much salt on our health and shed light on the hidden salt in our favourite food products and encourage those who don't want their food, and their children's food, laden with unnecessary salt to take action. 

Too much salt can harm our health, leading to unnecessary deaths from heart attacks and strokes. Action on Salt believes that salt reduction policies targeted specifically at the food industry are necessary and proportional and should be definitely adhered to improve public health. So simply telling people to eat less salt will not work when our processed/packaged food is still full of it.
